At Mary, you can choose from two degrees: a Master of Science in Occupational Therapy and a Doctor of Occupational Therapy. Both programs are delivered in person on our main campus in Bismarck, ND, as well as through hybrid programming at the University of Mary Butler Center in Fargo, ND, and the University of Mary in Billings, MT. 

Develop core competencies in the classroom and serve clients of all ages in diverse settings before completing 24 weeks of fieldwork under the mentorship of seasoned, accomplished field experts. Doctoral candidates conclude their studies with a 14-week capstone experience. Both programs are distinguished by their focus on our communities with pro bono clinics. Learn from experienced professionals with fieldwork opportunities throughout the U.S. as well as a summer service program at “La Alegría en el Señor” school in Lima, Peru.

The Doctor of Physical Therapy program at Mary fosters an evidence-based practice that focuses on treatment and rehabilitation in a hands-on setting. You will engage in research, education, and preventative care that combines professional skills with a passion for helping others. Our CAPTE-accredited program provides values-based, interdisciplinary formation where students gain clinical experience in full-time clinical placements across the US. 

You’ll help manage a pro bono clinic on campus and provide physical therapy services under faculty guidance with additional service opportunities abroad. Concentrations in business or bioethics are also available, allowing you to combine your interests and tailor your degree to your career goals.

Through our CAA-accredited program, you’ll build skills in evaluating, diagnosing, and treating different levels of speech and language difficulties. Complete clinical rotations while serving the community by providing services under faculty supervision in our on-campus pro bono clinic. 

You will also conduct meaningful and relevant research as you gain credentials to become a licensed and certified speech-language pathologist prepared for a wide range of clinical and non-clinical settings in this growing field.

As a founding member of the Association for Athletic Training Education, our CAATE-accredited Master of Science in Athletic Training meets the highest standards in the country and prepares you for a variety of allied health careers. 

You’ll develop competencies in injury and illness prevention; wellness promotion; examination, assessment, and diagnosis; immediate and emergency care; therapeutic intervention; and health care administration and professional responsibility. With immersive clinical experiences embedded in the curriculum, you’ll be eligible for board certification once you complete your MSAT degree.
